Hi All,
I know that this is not really a scripting question but I do not know where else to post it.
After having great luck with Kix in our head office I want to roll out new scripting in our branch office and ditch the .bet files currently in use.
However even thought KI32.exe is in the net log on share of the servers and Kix32 in the user profile it won't launch on user log in.
Anyone seen this before?
The script has been tested as working and is in daily use in our head office.
Thanks in advance!

LOL What are you calling kix? Usually @#$@#!$ is for masking a bad word and bypassing censoring. Maybe now it is just a typo as #@ equals 32 when not pressing the shift key ;\)

So you have it set in the user’s properties logon script field? You also have the script specified right? Like \\domain.local\somefoldershere\kix32.exe \\domain.local\somefoldershere\script.kix

Check the FAQs for a complete list, but the first things that comes to mind are
- Multiple DCs failing to replicate?
- Did you type "KIX32" or "KIX#@" [ check your post! ;\) ] Seriously - "kix32.exe" avoids any ambiguity
- Does kix run if you type "\\domain\netlogon\kix32.exe" at a command prompt? It should display usage info. If that works, try "\\domain\netlogon\kix32.exe \\domain\netlogon\scriptname.kix". Of course, specify your proper Windows domain name!
- What is your script name? If it isn't "kixtart.kix", it should be defined in the user profile (and properly, too!)

LOL typo was totally unintentional bu to be honest it has been a little frustrating.
On my head office profile simply entering kix32 in the log on script field in the profile worked but in the branch office it doesn't.

That only works if the script is called @Userid.kix or kixtart.kix.
What happens if you specify a script?

 Quote:

By default, KiXtart automatically looks for a personal script for the current user ("Username.KIX"). If it does not find one, it looks for the default script, "KIXTART.KIX". You can override this behavior by specifying one or more scripts after Kix32.exe on the command line.

Yeah, well - we'll jump on any opportunity to tease the new guys! ;\) At least you didn't call it KixTart! (I believe that to be a tangy pastry made with a popular children's breakfast cereal.)

BTW - Welcome to KORG - you'll be assimilated and like it (sooner or later).

Did you try running the command from a command prompt at the remote site? That will provide you with much information about where the problem lies.

I am a brand new user to Kix... and I have a weird problem I can't find a solution for.
Background:
I have kix32.exe wkix32.exe and kixtart.kix all in the \\servername\NETLOGON\ folder.
I have "kix32" listed in the Logon script of the Profile tab for each user.

When a user logs in, it's like nothing is working.
If I open a cmd prompt on a workstation and type the direct path kix32 it appears like it runs, though the script doesn't work (the script is just mapping a drive, plain and simple)

BUT if I navigate to \\Servername\Netlogon and double click on the kix32.exe file the application flashes on the screen quickly and the script DOES work and maps my drive.

So why can't I get the script to work on login or from a cmd prompt??

Thanks if you can help. I have searched the forums and I must not be typing the write keywords or I am missing something completely obvious to everyone else. \:\)
