Yeah, ouch but also kinda LOL especially on valentines eve. She's got some guts.
He: Hi honey, we have known each other for….yada, yada, yada…..so will you merry me? She: Well lets see, we are in a basketball court, 20000 people are watching and oh yeah TV camera's are filming everything so a few million people can see at live at home so you know what? Let's just say no and run away cause this isn't embarrassing enough yet. ROFLMAO

Then again, imagine her position (like Mart pointed out). Most of those public proposals where the women do say yes, end up being no when they get home

Well if there is just one chicken leg left and you ask you wife or girlfriend if she wants it? Chances are she'll say no. So you take it and eat it. Only thing is that she will tell everyone for the next ten years that you’re a pig and have no manners cause you took the last chicken leg. No could be yes in some cases.

Marriage just seems to be a bit to much to worry about sometimes. I'd say - wait until your better half proposes to you at a ball game - and say... no :D. Mart, mmhm. I follow. Can't say I understand the opposite sex at all sometimes :).
What I can't understand is this ... guys just don't wake up in the morning and think to themselves "think I will propose to my girlfriend at the ball game today". I mean, wasn't marriage mentioned in the past ? Was this not discussed ? Did the woman not say anything or give any kind of hint that yes, I would like to marry you ... I mean cripes.
If these guys really didn't see this coming - then maybe they were proposing in the public eye to "force" them into saying yes ?

Under normal circumstances I'd agree with you... that was before I found out about "general population"
