Several years ago on holiday in France we rented a house in the middle of the Dordogne region and one night we sat in the garden looking up and watched satellites go by (very bright lights moving really fast) and there were also one or two falling stars. It was a clear night after a d#mn hot 35+C day and we watched for hours. 
Will see if there is something to see the 13th and 14th.
