A little more messing around yield the following results.

If I put NOTICE in " ", it fails to call the function
(NOTICE NOTICE)

$Fn = "NOTICE"

CALL $Fn




If I leave out " ", it's able to call the function
(NOTICE -------)
 Code:
? $Fn
$Fn = NOTICE
? $Fn
CALL $Fn
