I have written this script
===use s: "\\triton.part\shared" ; Drive mappings
use u: "\\triton.part\users"
use z: "\\Avmanage\netlogon"

IF INGROUP("finance")
USE j: /del
USE j: "\\Avmanage\finance$$" ; true if user NOT in Finance group
IF INGROUP("eVenture")
USE v: /del
USE v: "\\ums\eVenture"
ENDIF
ENDIF

IF "@inwin"="2" ; checks the O/S before copying lmhost file
copy "z:\lmhosts" "%windir%" /h
else
copy "z:\lmhosts" "%windir%\system32\drivers\etc" /h
ENDIF

use z: /del

sleep 2 ; Wait for 2 secs (or key)
exit

but IF INGROUP ("eVenture") bit does not map to drive V. Any ideas? Server = Win 2k. Clients = Win 2K pro and Win98

Thanks

Don't use Z: 'cause the '98 machines need it. It's in the manual.

OK I have used x but this does not fix my problem. The IF Ingroup (eventure) bit does not map to drive

Hi Phil,

Just a suggestion,
Are you sure that the users who are in the eVenture group are also in the finance group?
If this is not so you have to move one of the ENDIF's...

The users in Eventure group are not in the finance group.

Therein lies your problem. The two IFs are nested so basically IF INGROUP ("finance")
AND IF INGROUP ("eVenture")
USE v: "\\ums\eVenture"...
