I think that if you don't use KiXtart regularly enough your standing begins to atrophy.

I've been able to hide my laziness behind the "Moderator" title, but the change in ranking has reset the names and exposed my shameful laxity.

A brown paper envelope full of cash is on its way to Doc to fix up the titles before anyone else notices.

Many of the young guns have overtaken us in post counts - I see it as fitting that the standard is handed on to the next generation to carry, and we step back and watch over them sagely and complacently as they forge forwards.

Either that or they talk waaaay too much ;\)

Hi all,

On the subject of titles, just because I do not post many items does not make me a stranger!

I am frequently reviewing the information provided within this excellent site, and find the information of great value.

But why am I list as a stranger? is there nothing that records when registered users are online, and how often?

Perhaps users like myself should be reviewer, or some other polite name, as I am not a stranger to the site just do not post much...

Regards

Iffin.

Actually to the people on the board you are per definition a stranger.
Reviewer would be someone who comments on his findings.
At most you'd be a visitor although visitors tend to make their presence known \:\)

Yes you are. I don't know you, and I don't think we've had a conversation before, ergo from my perspective you are a stranger.

Someone with a very low post count is going to be a stranger to the majority of the board members, so I don't think that it is an unreasonable moniker.

The more you participate the less strange you are - well, except for Shawn and Jooel who started strange and just got more peculiar as time has passed.

Hmm - maybe a special UBB mod that follows their post counts and always lists them as "strange"?? ;\)

Maybe a "special" order of ranks applies:

0     Unclassified
5     Interesting
50    Oddball
100   Peculiar
200   Strange
400   Batty
700   Loose Marbled
1000  Weird
2500  Gaa-gaa
10000 Worrying (Sheep)
15000 Unhinged
20000 Completely Barking

ROFL - There you go. Well I was going to say something but with our drilled in Politically Correct nature I didn't want to upset him.

I know this board is Technically geared but come on folks lets not be TOO Serious all the time. Even MS has fun and makes fun of themselves, they're not straight laced all the time {except when you owe them money} ;\)

I think posting rankings are fine but they don't give a good picture of the overall member. There should be a KIX Familiarity field in the profile of each member.

That way the mods can "assume" that a KIXREGULAR user knows the basics and can start helping the user with advanced troubleshooting vs started at the very bottom and working up...

I don't post very often, just mostly browse the forums for issues others are having to see if they apply to my environment.

KIX Familiarity:

1. KIXNEWUSER - Just Learning
3. KIXFRESHMAN - Student
4. KIXREGULAR - Scripter
5. KIXEXPERT - Advanced Scripter
6. KIXGOD - Created KIX Scripting
