Hi, I want to be able to read the MAPI profile of the logged on user, specifically to identify the path\filename of the Outlook.PST in use. Then as a minimum I want to return the file size of this PST.

Can this be done with KixTart - I looked in the registry for keys relating to the MAPI profile and they all seem to be Hex based data.

The bonus question is - Would it be possible for KixTart to return the number of documents in the PST (then I can work out an Average document size).

What version of Outlook and Exchange Server are you running?

What Operating system ?

Bryce has done a few things with KiX and Exchange in this area as I recall.

Hopefully he'll stop by and give some feedback on this for you.

I would be interesting in getting info on this too because we're in the middle of migrating from Exchange 5.5 (yikes!) to 2003. We'll be implementing an archiving solution where we'll import all PSTs into this archiving system.

Thanks for the warm welcome.

The version of Exchange is 5.5. The Server O/S is Windows 2000 mostly although there is still the odd one or two WinNT4.0 servers.

Desktop OS is Windows 2000

Outlook version is predominantly 2000 and 2003 though there are a few Outlook 97 clients.

Active directory is also in use.

We are migrating to Lotus Domino so need to assess PST information.

Well Exchange 2003 really has a LOT more available information than 5.5 did programatically.

Do a search for Exchange or Outlook and use Bryce as the name in the search and change it to all topics and 9 years and see what you can find for this.

Wow first I've heard of someone going from Exchange to Lotus Domino, but good luck on the migration.

There are some 3rd party tools out there that can gather a lot of information on 5.5 but not free.
