Microsoft has recently launched two "charity" campaigns; Click4theCause and i'm.
While the first is more questionable marketing tactics (MS donates to ninemillion.org for each search you do with MS Live Search Engine), the "i'm" charity is better if you ask me.
By adding a simple code to your display name in MSN Messenger, MS will donate a piece of their advertisement revenue to the organization of your choice.
This is totally free, and all that's needed is that you add the code after your display name in MSN Messenger. An example: "masken *help".
The different organizations:
*help = StopGlobalWarming.org
*red+u = American Red Cross
*bgca = Boys & Girls Club
*naf = National AIDS Fund
*mssoc = National Multiple Sclerosis Society
*9mil = ninemillion.org
*sierra = Sierra Club
*komen = Susan G. Komen for the Cure
*unicef = The US fund for UNICEF
You need v.8.1 of Messenger for this to work. Currently it's only active in the US, but support in more countries are coming. Even if you don't live in the US, you can still setup your display name.
