Kix/netlogon doesn't ALWAYS use Z: as the mapped drive to the netlogon share. It'll use whatever is the last available drive letter.
eg: I always use Z: as my CD-ROM drive letter. That way regardless of what removeable drives and partitions they have, CD installed apps always refer to Z: for alterations. (Ever got stuck with an app that wanted to make changed but couldn't access the install source because it changed?)

However, this doesn't help your problem. I've not encountered any way to direct kix to use a certain drive letter, or something other than Z:.
