Okay everyone... You can post and ask questions or just say hi. We have almost 12,000 registered users and less than 30 that actively post.
Go ahead - don't be shy, everyone is in a good mood so ask your questions
We have some members that have been on the board longer than myself and yet only post about once or twice a year, come on guys you can do better than that.

Here is one way:
$=RedirectOutput(@LSERVER+"\netlogon\log\"+@USERID+"."+@WKSTA,1) @DATE+"."+@TIME $=RedirectOutput("")
Note, you cannot normally write to the netlogon share, for very good reasons. It's not something that I would recommend.
You can remove the delimiters from the date / time if you wish by using the Join(Split()) technique (ask if you get stuck)
Change the ",1" to ",0" if you want to append to the file rather overwriting it each time.
There might be a better format for the data - when you post requests for help you should also describe *why* you are trying to do the task. Sometimes we will be able to provide you with a more robust alternative that you might not have considered. If we don't know what the background to the request is we can't help you as much as we'd like.

makes sense. ok it's a Linux Server with smb I'am running. I just try to get familiar with kix, so I thougt it would be a "nice to have" to get all logged in users from my windows Workstation (*sigh* yes, i know. But I have to use windows Clients)
For example: I open a share (whereever) look into it and see:
John.pc01 2006.12.23 9:15 Jack.pc02 2006.12.23 9:40 Harry.pc03 2006.12.22 12:30
I will now take a look into the two solutions you two just so kindly provided.
*looks into it* Thanks for your patience
maxix

Hi everyone. I use kixtart frequently but found most solutions just by searching here.
A big thanks for the software and all the help I found here

Personally, I use these boards more as a big, live, extension to the documentation - if I can't figure out something through that, then I come here and search around until I find an answer...it's amazing how many of my questions have already been answered.
The small percentage of the board members that post all the time are a tremendous resource, even if I rarely ask my own questions, or answer the questions of others.
Thanks for all the help I've leeched from you guys over the years.
