Hi all,

I realize Win32API is not supported in KiXtart at this time. In the past, I've used UDF functions available here to kill the process of the application. However, the applications that need to be terminated talk to one another. Each application has an exit point which basically tells the other apps that it's being terminated and free resources from the system. However, by blindly killing the process, the exit function is never executed, thus creating an unstable environment.

My question...has anyone in the board created a dll to incorporate the SendMessage (or PostMessage) Win32API? Anyone have a solution to properly close the program?

Thanks~

What application? Have you looked at WMI and killing the associated processes, tree?

Howard Bullock wrote a wrapper that allows you to access the win32 api. You might take a look at the following thread, and see if you can make it do what you want. (link to his dll is down the page a little)

I went ahead and used Auto-It v3's WinList to retrieve a collection of applications with a Window Title provided by user via command-line parameter, WinClose function to close the questionable applications and couple it with SysInternal's PsExec to execute it remotely.

Works like a charm.

Thanks for your suggestions, anyway!
