AFAIK, French is a language related related to Latin. Latin was spoken by the Romans. So in the first century, French must have been non existant. It will have been one or another Celtic language I presume.

Gaul was conquered for Rome by Julius Caesar in the 1st century BC, and the Gauls eventually adopted Roman speech (Latin, which evolved into the French language) and Roman culture.
so, dunno if the language existed either. it is stated as language first time at 1539

The part in this thread about Belgium is very topical:
