Hi All,

I hope I can get some clarifications here. I have no idea why this is not working. We are on a Win2k3 AD Domain and the @comment works fine with most, if not all users. However, I have a user where @comment comes back blank. So does a lot of other @ functions, like @fullname and @homedir. Anybody have any idea how I can debug this? I can see all this info populated on AD users and computers. It's that when the logon script runs (either locally or through the network), these values always come back blank.

I have to ask. Is this a 9x client?

I would check that the system doesn't have local version of kixtart other than the one you have in your logonserver.

I have reproduced this on Win2k, XP and Win2k Server boxes. Some have a local copy of kixtart.exe and some run it off the network with the same results. On the same PC, I can login with another user and it works fine.

I have dug some more and it may not be a kixtart issue, but more of a domain issue. I am saying this because I cannot do a "net user username /domain" when logged in with the broken user's account, but it works fine with any other account. I will have to dig some more.

ja, looks like a network issue...

why I suggested the exe check is that there are old versions of kix where almost all of the network macro's were broken.
think the last problematic version was 4.11, but can't remember for sure.

After talking to the other admin here, we figured out the problem. This person is part of a sub domain, so we had to restrict his access to certain things. Mystery solved!
