ever tried "de-tokenization"?

Ruud calls it tokenization, but after a simple test on small scriptlets, I found out he is using some level of crypting as well.

Lonkero Lonkero KiX Master Guru Registered: 2001-06-05 Posts: 22346 Loc: OK	now as I think of it, fuscation would be better name than tokenization. even though the end product might contain some tokens, it's larger than original, it's sometimes even slower than the original and the result has lot more than just tokens. thus, tokenization is not really what the /t switch does.

Ithink he said as much earlier when he talked about tokenization. However, I thinks it's mroe than just obfuscation. _________________________ There are two types of vessels, submarines and targets.

NTDOC NTDOC Administrator Registered: 2000-07-28 Posts: 11634 Loc: Space	My guess would be that he is using one of the Microsoft cryptography libraries which probably gives rather good security even if using an older library compared to obfuscation alone. Doubt he wants to stand on a box and proclaim it is unbreakable. If someone was determined I'm sure it could be broken, but for normal use that most of us use it for I would doubt any of us or our users are going to easily decode it.

Lonkero Lonkero KiX Master Guru Registered: 2001-06-05 Posts: 22346 Loc: OK	well, that crypto library theory is quite right in fact. if you look at what libraries kixtart loads you see what I mean. also, when the tokenization versions came out, there were issues with win9x and cryptolibrary was a problem.
