Has anyone ever tried to use Kixtart to uninstall a windows application here?? Or does anyone know the correct syntax to stop a windows service from starting using Kixtart??

Thousands before you have. A search should reveal much.

LOL

Pimpjuice,

You could have a look here HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall. Find out what app it is, read the UninstallString and then run it from a script.

For stopping a service and/or changing parameters of a service there are several UDF’s in the UDF section. I did a search on service in the title in the UDF section and got 41 hits.
Writing a value to the service here HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services in the key of the affected service could also be done but a reboot of the system is required for the changes to be loaded.

Set start to 2 (automatic), 3 (manual)or 4 (disabled).
iirc 0, and 1 can also be used but I don’t remember what status they represented will see when I get home. Got a script there that does something with this.

Are you the King of Siam?

Do I win with that question? Surely no one has asked you that before
