OK, don't laugh too loud. I have just started learning this software, and a dumb question, I am sure is. In the manual is says to install the Kix32.exe file in the NETLOGON folder. Where is the NETLOGON folder on Server 2003? I have searched for it and I cannot seem to find it.
Please help.

Maybe he isn't an Admin, I don't know, but if one inquires about where to place KiXtart in the logon share then that leads me to believe that he is an Admin.
True he could be just a student and asking about KiXtart etc... but that too seems odd to me to seek out KiXtart for logon scripts when fully new to it. Most Admins use batch files or nothing till they learn more.
So - not slamming, just curious what's up and how he became interested in using KiXtart.

I think that we all have a bad day now and then and we all know Doc well enough to know that he doesn’t loose his cool very often, if he does, it is a valid reason. Doc I thank you for all that you do for us.

First off, "Don't mean any disrespect" cannot be used as a wild card to then follow with whatever verbage with impunity. DOC, I think an apology would be in order.
Second, there is nothing in Steve's post that would indicate Steve Robinson was hired as an expert administrator. For all you know, he may be just learning on all fronts.
Third, the level of answers provided may be too cryptic for someone that cannot find the NetLogon share. BTW, I checked the manual and it says "share", not "folder". Perhaps if he had realized Netlogon is the share name and not the actual *Folder* name, he may have been resourceful enough to find it. "%SystemRoot%\sysvol\sysvol\<domain DNS name>\scripts" makes certain assumptions.
Steve, Welcome to the board. If you still need help in deploying KiX and/or want to explore alternatives to legacy scripting such as GPO scripts, give us a shout.

Thank you. Yes I am somewhat new to this. The company that hired me was using just a workgroup structure. This company has 9 branches in 4 states. I know a Administration, but very little. To be honest, when I was interviewed, the question to my knowledge of networking and administation was never discussed. When I was hired with the company, they were predominately a Novell shop. In the past 8 months I have fought to get away from Novell and move over to Microsoft. Yes, I was having a bad day when I asked the question. Actually, about 20 minutes after posting my first comment, I realized that the "Netlogon" was a share name and not a folder, DUH!!. Anyway, I learned about Kixtstart from another office I previously worked at. And to answer your question about am I am Admin or not, I am an systems administration in training. Thank you to all who helped out. I appreciate it.
