HI...

I can not get my Win98 clients to run the Login script ( batch file ) from the PDC!! The PDC is NT 4.0 server.

The Kixtart scripts are being called from the login script. I do have W2K clients on the network and run the login script with no problems.

Any suggestions would be appriecated !!

Alex,

Welcome to the board!

A question for you...

How do you "call" your login script? Most Admins use a detection scheme to differentiate between 9x and NT-based OSes..

So, when you login under a 9x machine and assuming that you define your users to use NTLOGON.BAT in the Profile section of User Manager, do they see any DOS Window?

Thanks!

- Kent

No, the DOS window never appears, but the user does login into the network. I used the same user id on Win 2000 Pro workstation and it works!!!! I don't know why the Win 98 clients are not processing the login script.

Are the 9x computers opening a session on the domain ?
on the login panel, you should see 3 entries :
User name
password
domain

Alex,

Caught you e-mail when I went home for lunch, but have not replied to it.

Alex H. raises a good point. In the Network settings - do you have the "Login to" defined as your domain?

Thanks!

- Kent

Hey Hey ... You ain't go to believe this !!
The login script that I created had a hyphen in the file name. ( v-drive.bat). Once I rename the file to vdrive.bat the Win98 clients start to process the login script File !!! Stinkin' hyphen is what been killing the script file not to process...
