I feel sorry for anyone trying to market a commercial product to users not accustomed to paying.There's an old saying "Penny wise, Pound foolish" that I wonder if applies. I know everyone enjoys a bargain and it's hard to beat free. If you value your time, and the commecial product proves to be a time saver, then that's where the "bargain" is.
I can see the value in commercial products like ScriptLogic, Visual KiXtart, or a dedicated editor, if it saves you time to do other more productive things or gets you more "family time".
Me... I won't drive to the far side of town to pump my own gas and save a few pennies when I can have full-serve close by and get home sooner.
