Subject: RE: odd issue with KiXtart

Hi Kirk,

Thanks for the update. Sorry to hear the problem persists.

I checked the specific status code reported in the exception (c000020c). This indicates a so-called 'Lost Delayed-Write Data' error. There has been a known issue involving these errors on Windows 2000 ( http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q293842, but that should not apply to your situation.

There is also a similar type of issue on Windows 2003: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=890352, so it is definitely worth a try to investigate that.

Lastly, there is a known issue related to these errors on Windows XP (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/321733/en-us) but that should be fixed in Service Pack 2. Still, it may be worth looking into.

One thing you might do is use the tool mentioned on this page (http://www.tangent-systems.com/support/delayedwrite.html) to see if the problem can actually be reproduced.

Let me know if any of this helps to resolve the issue!

Kind regards,

Ruud

Kent
