dahauss dahauss Fresh Scripter Registered: 2005-09-02 Posts: 9	Hello.. Im trying to find a way to update the local cache on everyones computer in our school district using the CSCCMD program. I know you can use the MOVESHARE command with this but it asks for an old server & share and new server and share. Depending on who logs in, the server and share is different from the old and for the new. are there any variables I can pass to it to pull the old share and new share to it? IE a student share is in one place and a staff share is in another place.. THanks...

dahauss dahauss Fresh Scripter Registered: 2005-09-02 Posts: 9	what do you mean by USE? the issue is that I had a server called ALTIRIS that had the staff shares on it.. now we have a new server called STAFF and that is where all the shares were moved to. when they log in, they get their new home folder but they also get a message to the fact for offline documents on altiris saying it can not connect. I want to reset the cache to get rid of this error.. I know how to do it by going to every machine and manually doing it but I thought /moveshare would do it??

I wrote the following script but I get a file not found? does this happen because I have already manually reset the cache? with it work on a machine that does not have the cache reset?? Do the users running the script need full access to the old share? New Share? Does it need to be run from a command shell? For example shell "%comspec% /c csccmd... Doesn't sound like a kix issue, but more like you need to correctly interpret the errors created by the csccmd command Quote: Note Users who use the CSCCMD tool must have good knowledge of client-side caching functionality. That's not me. I'm just asking what I think are appropriate questions.
