Hi Matt,

Per our phone conversation, there are a couple of resources you can leverage:

(1) The sample scripts that come in the KiXtart download
(2) There is a good book that takes you through how to develop a script:
Start to Finish Guide to Scripting with KiXtart

HTH,

Kent

And if course the KiXtart BBS itself is a treasure-trove of information if you're willing to stick around and make liberal use of the BBS Search and the UDF Forum.

Thank you gentlemen for helping me work through the learning curve. I find myself asking the question, "How can I do this with a script". I had a migraine yesterday and went home to rest. I fell asleep only to dream of writing Kixtart scripts in the Halo game world. Funky dream...

I am using login ID = 'sa' to connect to my microsoft sql server.
It works fine for XP, but not on Windows 98 SE machine?
It errors: Login failed for user 'WORKGROUP\DAVID'

$RC=ADDKEY($RegEdPath)
$RC=WRITEVALUE($RegEdPath,'Database',$DB,'REG_SZ')
$RC=WRITEVALUE($RegEdPath,'Driver',$Driver,'REG_SZ')
$RC=WRITEVALUE($RegEdPath,'LastUser','sa','REG_SZ')
$RC=WRITEVALUE($RegEdPath,'Server',$Server,'REG_SZ')
$RC=WRITEVALUE($RegEdPath,'Trusted_Connection','Yes','REG_SZ')
$RC=WRITEVALUE($RegEd+'\ODBC Data Sources',$Name,$Title,'REG_SZ')

What am I missing? Thanks for the help.

David
