For the past 7 - 8 years or so, the company I've worked for; for the last 2 years has used Kix versions like 3.xx
This week, we purchased a software package that unknowingly upgraded kix on the domain controllers to 4.23...

After this, the InGroup() functionality of the login script did not work. Since noone here knows kix well enough I thought I would post our login script here in hopes that some of you script geniuses could help me figure why this script runs perfectly with Kix 3.63 and doesn't run with Kix 4.23....

The part that does not work is the drive mapping sections AFTER the home folder mapping....

Thanks,
Jones

Try prefixing the group name with the domain, i.e. If InGroup("mydomain\mygroup")...

Read these two threads for some insight into what changed from your old version 3.x

I tried prefix the group with domainname\groupname, I tried
If Ingroup("group") = 1 -- didn't work
If Ingroup('group') -- didn't work
If InGroup('domain\group') -- didn't work...

I read those posts but is there a solution to the problem?

What is the client OS?
Do they rely on KXRPC and if so, did you upgrade it?
Is there additional network providers or protocols installed?
Is this NT4 or AD domain?

Please give us some details about your environment. Client OS versions, Domain OS versions, etc. If you have a W2K AD domain, do you have a global catalog server defined?

What package did you install that uses KiXtart 4.23?

INgroup works. We need to understand what in you environment is broken.

And I notice that you don't have quotes around the path on the use commands. When i test here for example, this throws an error

Code:

use p: \\server\share

And the following works fine

Code:

use p: "\\server\share"

So, you bought ScriptLogic and installed it into a production domain without reading the manuals? You should know what you buy.

IIRC, upgrading your version of KiX while running ScriptLogic is not supported. You will need to address that with them. Sorry.
