1. is not correct. While it is definitely advantageous to have the login script in the NETLOGON share with replication enabled, it is not a necessity. The executables just have to reside in a location where every client can access the files.
The FAQ Forum has extensive articles on how to implement a KiXtart login script. Also, samples batch files have been posted as well. One should start with the most basic script, then expand the functionality.
