IF INGROUP("IS Support")

;Do Something

ENDIF

Hi

I know this has probably been asked a thousand times but I have the above mentioned code in a small script I have. The problem is this group exists on our PDC NT4 but the script will not read the group.

I have this problem with new groups I create as well as some groups that have been on there for ages.

I have run the command kix32 logon.kix /d /f.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. As far as I am aware there is no error with the code I have written or is there?

What OS are you running on wkstn ? Anything in the eventlog for either wkstn or server ? If running 9x, check the kixtart.log file (iirc) in C:\WINDOWS.

Are you sure that individual InGroup() functions are not working as expected or could it be that the entire script is not running every time?

You might want to try to include the domain name in the parm.

If InGroup('domain\group')
'works' ?
EndIf

You may also need to optimize your network, checking for unnecessary of incorrectly oredered providers and protocols.

You might also want to check the error code reported back by INGROUP.

Have you turned off the XP optimized logon?

One other thing you might want to check with the group is the "Pre-2000" Group Name in Active Directory.. Or, look at ENUMGROUP from KiX or even IFMEMBER /v /l from the RESOURCE Kit to list out the groups that are in question for this/these user(s).
