Script does not run

Let me explain. The problem I am having is not necessarily with the script itself, but the fact that it does not run for some users. The script itself works fine, but some users are having problems with the script running at all. It is probably some type of networking issue, but I figured someone here may have seen it before and could give a suggestion. This is on a Windows 2000 network with XP and 2000 professional clients. I've tried implementing the script both through Group Policy and in the user settings in Active Directory. It will run fine one day, but then not run at all the next unless done manually through the command prompt. There are no error messages, it just simply doesn't run. It happens on PCs running both XP and 2000. Any ideas??????????

Yes we do, and the script is being replicated.

I've been trying to remember just how to check who my logon server is. Isn't there a command for this? There are 2 DCs, so seeing which one is logging the PCs onto the network would help.

1st, who is Mad Cow?
2nd Origianlly I called the script from the user profile (putting kix32 ntlogon.kix in the profile). Then I tried creating a batch file called logon.bat that called the kix script (\\server\netlogon\kix32.exe \\server\netlogon\ntlogon.kix). I put the logon.bat in the user profile in AD.
Next, I tried using a Group Policy to call the script. I tried calling both the ntlogon.kix settings and the logon.bat
All attempts yielded the same results. It seems as though there are certain users that experience the problem more often, but they may just notice it more than others.
As for the randomness, I have a user that didn't have the script run for 3 days straight and then it ran for her today. Another user had it run for the past couple of days but didn't run today. Sometimes it will run for them on their first logon, but then not run if they reboot during the day. There is no pattern to what is happening.

Ok, I went around and ran set logonserver on a few of the PCs that have the problem most often. I was hoping to find them all having the same logonserver, but they didn't. I'm going to check them again tomorrow and see who did and didn't have the script run and see which logon server they used.
Thanks for everyone's input, this problem is driving me mad!

No errors on screen or event log. It's like the user gets logged on with a local account. However, when I had the script set to run from the Group Policy the policy WOULD get pushed down to the PC. I verified this by using the gpresult tool that show which policies have been applied to a PC. So even though the PC recognized the Group Policy from AD, it still didn't run the script, whereas others did.

I agree that it seems like they are getting logged in withed cached credentials, BUT as you can see in my above post the PC did recognize the Group Policy change I made but didn't run the script. Every theory I have come up with has been blown out of the water.
And yes, both DCs are on the same subnet.

Yes, and it seems to be working fine. None of the PCs are having problems getting an IP address or DNS settings.

I guess it could be possible we are having dhcp or dns issues, but there are no other problems that would suggest that.
You say it sounds like a situation you had before, what did you do to fix it?

Someone on a Microsoft forum suggested I put Wscript.sleep 60000 in my script to give Windows time to startup and activate the desktop before running the script. Is this o.k. to put in a Kix script, and if so how would I implement it?
I really don't know if this will help though, b/c like I said the script never runs so I don't see how adding more code to the script would help. BUT at this point I'm willing to try anything.
