This is a reasonable solution for most users and software pushes. However if the machine is used by multiple users it will still launch for each user that logs on and delete the newly installed .DOT file if it was installed previously.
Not wanting to confuse the matter or make things more difficult, just want you to be aware of potential issues.
Shawn's method will work fine for most situations.
