We always think of the US as Goliath since they are right next door & 10 times bigger than Canada but I notice Finland if a fifth of our size so I guess you could call us that. Jooel, My money & my heart is on Canada but there was a lot of support in my town for Finland. Koivu & Kipersoft (I don't think I spelled those names correctly) are very popular in Canada at this moment. PS Jooel: I am half Welsh & they say we only know how to sing & drink. The welsh were never known as fighters - I think you must be confusing them with the Scots - my other half - I think the Scots fought more losing battles then any race known to man. It seems every 50 years they would raise a massive army for the British army to destroy. Many of the British tenors are Welsh & their boys choirs are suppose to be famous & least one forget Tom Jones (my mother's favourite singer) is Welsh. Of course much of this is hearsay passed on to me by word of mouth by my mother. _________________________ Jack

I think your mixed ancestry is causing you some confusion Substitute "English" for "British" and it makes more sense, as the British army of course comprises troops from all over the mainland, as well as overseas (such as The Royal Gurkha Rifles)

Latest expert opinion is the lowland Scots are of Welsh ancestry. There are a bunch of different explanations for my name but the most prevalent is Lothian equals ‘Lleu Eid’ or the land of Lleu’s fort & Lleu is linked in many legends to both Llewellyn and Arthur & Arthur is reputed to be buried in Lothian. I think there is a consensus opinion the name Lothian is of Welsh Gaelic origin & not the Scottish/Irish Gaelic form (the highlanders are of Irish origin & speak a very different Gaelic than the Welsh.) So maybe I am really 100% Welsh. The Scots that I was making negative references to, are the Highlanders. The Welsh & the lowlanders were much more consistent allies of the English than the Highlanders. PS: You are correct I should have said 'the English' not the British. My mother considers herself British but most definitely not English. My Scottish Grandmother was even more extreme on this point. Jooel, To bad you missed the game - it was a very good game & either team could have won right up to the end. I watched most of the tournament & I thought it was the best game of the tournament. For some reason California does not pay as much attention to sporsts as most of the rest of the World does. Hey, we were good at one time (when we had a bunch of Canadian players) Have only been to a couple games myself. It was fun, but not worth fighting over who wins.
