btw - wtf is a hurricane shield ? Did a stfw and found some company that produces hurricane products for windows and doors, etc. This what you talking about ?

A hurricane shield was placed at MacDill Airforce Base in the late 60s to protect Central Command (and the nukes placed in the underground silos) from hurricanes and nuculear strikes from Cuba after the "Bay of Pigs" incident.
Since then a hurricane hasn't come within 100 miles of Tampa, nor has the city suffered anu damage from one except for some minor flooding
