Hi again all ! First thanks to those who tried to help me ! But it wasn't enough since I'm noob with kix ! So can anybody tell me how I can add a network printer with Kix using the computername and not the username ? Thanks !!!

And to use the computername to map the printer, you could do something with @wksta.

not sure what your problem is.
surely you have found addprinterconnection() in the manual.

so, it sounds like you have some logics issue.
if you do not get it solved, please let us know.

Well I know taht I can do this :

If Ingroup("abc")
addprinterconnection("\\printserver\printshare")
EndIf

and that works but the problem for me is that I would like to do the same using the computer name cause Ingroup only accept username !!! Is there a way ?

Yes, there are several ways, all of which have been discussed here several times. Try using the board search.

I already told him in the other thread that there is a UDF that does the computer in goup and suggested he look in the UDF forum. I mean, all he needed to search on are the words COMPUTER IN GROUP. How hard can it be?

ComputerInGroup() - returns if the PC is a member of a specified group

his question did not say he wanted computerInGroup()

basically, it said nothing much else either.

I dunno... if you read the other thread, it is pretty hard to miss his intention. That was why I chastized him for abandoning that thread.

I don't consider myself aggressive... only I expect you to respect forum etiquette. If one reads both of your threads, it is obvious that your double posting just created confusion.

To answer your question... Yes, I am 'just' a moderator. There is just one author (Ruud) of Kix but the entire KiX community does provide input. Not sure where you are going with that.

You didn't say what 'help' worked for you in the end, but I am happy someone 'helped' you.

Well I'm really sorry for all of that I didn't expect not to respect forum rules as I said I'm noob with all this Kix stuff and I'm trying to make it works for the place I work ! But you helped me guys ! I found the ComputerInGroup stuff, I don't understand everything in the way UDF works and are written as I'm not a programmer, but I try !!!! I'm actually trying the ComputerInGroup UDF, be sure I'll let you know how it's going... Hope well !
