hmm,

are there no alternative candidates?
I mean apart from the one, can't remember his name right now, who made Bush's reign possible back in 2000

Ja,

I won't vote for him, allthough he seems to be one of the good guys ... every vote for him is one less for Kerry

I must say I am surprised to find the European support for Bush after the Iraq media firestorm.

hmmm ... you're quite alone there, but that's ok.

On the other side I predict a victory for old Bush
Can't tell why, just a feeling (maybe the power of manipulated media will be the cause, again )

dunno... the democrats have the media, with them being all anti-establishment and all.

But I think that most people will vote from their wallets (or from fear) just like the rest of the world does, and Bush has kept the economy doing reasonably well... considering the pile of crap he was handed. He didn't CAUSE 9-11, or the Enron and Worldcom fiascos, but he did have to deal with their economic repercussions. I still have my job, I am paid more now than I was 5 years ago at the same job, my taxes are lower, I refinanced my home at a lower interest rate. I have 0% interest on a mew mini-van... I have paid off 2 credit cards. the economy for me seems just fine.

Kerry's "we should get more international support" really doesn't engender much support, outside of the media and hollywood. it makes many people feel that the UN gets to decide what the US gets to do or that the US can't handle it ourselves; We LIKE the lone wolf, only superpower, cowboy thing feeling. Now, before all you "Euro's" get upset, this is describing what many people feel, not a political dissertation on what is right or not in world politics.

My personal feelings on the whole issue is that the US would project a stronger, more unified image to the world and to the 'terrorist' community by keeping Bush in office. I think everyone knows what most people feel about what happened in Spain at their elections, and people feel about S/korea giving in to the terrorist demands. Electing Kerry would be seen as a 'reversal' of international policy, even if he changed nothing and continued the same progams as Bush did.

Bush/Blair may have manipulated the media to get the justification to 'deal with' Iraq, but the goal was honerable. Liberating a country from a tyrant is a worthwhile cause. Still they should't have lied.

If you trust a man who lies to achieve a justifiable goal then what else will he lie for?

That said I just don't get American politics. Maybe I should read more.

Any hoo, the average joe will vote for his own betterment in the short term. Whoever promises that will win.

How do you support the term "lied"? From everything that has come out since, all intelligence agencies including Russia's all indidcated a high possibility of WMD's. One acts on the available information. Hindsight is always 20/20. Leaders have to make hard decisions at times without the luxury of knowing concretely the motives and inventories of foreign leaders and countries.

At least we both have leaders with sufficient spine to make those tough decisions.

I guess your press is giving a different story to ours.

We're in the middle of a 'inteligance agency shakeup' because the info was wrong and that there are/were no WMD.

If Bush had said 'I'm going to finsih it off and liberate Iraq' there'd be no problem. The 'He has and will use WMD if we don't stop him' just fell flat. With all the might of the combined forces, satilite survaliance, spies and whatever we didn't find so much as 1 'Vanilla Ice CD' let alone a significant stash of WMD.

That's how I come to lied.

I do believe though that the Iraq people will be better off with out the dictatorship that has blead the country dry of resources and free will.
