Mwc Mwc Lurker Registered: 2004-07-02 Posts: 4 Loc: Netherlands Arnhem	I know its somewhere in the forum but I cannot find excactly what I am looking for. I work with W2000 and XP workstations. When I want to run a kixscript, for mappings, it won't work. when I doubleclick the script or pull it to the executable it works just fine. When I put the executable and script in the logon box of the profile tab, it works great. When I put it in the GPO logon propertiebox it's not recognized when I login and wont run. Why is that? Please point me the right way! Thanks Max

I think I have put everything in the right place. The script in the gpo(xxxxxxxxxxxx) logon map and the executable in the logon map on the DC. Then call kix through the logon properties tab by typing there just kix32. That's how I read the manual and the messages on the forum. Clearly I do something wrong, but what? Please let me know!

You either did not read the thread I provided a link to, or you think you know better and didn't bother to try it my way. If you try it my way and it does not work, I can understand where you may ask me why it does not work, but if you do it your own way, you are on your own. I have no idea what "logon properties tab" you are talking about since there is no such tab in the GPMC. Also, in my example, I use a BATch file to invoke KiX. I also do not put the KiX executable and KiX script in the GPO folder as you did. Reread and follow the steps I outlined in the thread I linked to and post back the result. _________________________ Give a man a fish and he will be back for more. Sealeopard Sealeopard KiX Master Registered: 2001-04-25 Posts: 11165 Loc: Boston, MA, USA	Or read the HOW-TO I've mentioned or the KiXtart Manual, which explains in great detail how KI(X32.eXE/WKIX32.EXE launch kixtart scripts and what default files they are lookign for. AFAIK, a batch file is still the best way to call KiXtrat scripts from within GPOs while the direct call to KIX32/WKIX32 is the preferred way for the logon script if no Windows 9x computers are being supported. Also, we highly recommend to use correct terminology with regards to what you describe. _________________________ There are two types of vessels, submarines and targets.
