Raikkonen_WC Raikkonen_WC Lurker Registered: 2004-06-30 Posts: 2	I have a question. To remove the Administration Tool in Windows XP's Control Panel I need to rename a registry key. Is their a way that you can rename a key with Kixtart? Greetings Raymond

Administrator Registered: 2000-01-24 Posts: 4946 Loc: Leatherhead, Surrey, UK	There is no "rename" built-in, however you may read the existing key/values, write the new key/values and then delete the original key. Look in the KiXtart manual for: EnumKey(), EnumValue to enumerate the keys and values, ReadtType() to get the value type. ReadValue() to get the value value. WriteValue() to write the value / create the key. DelKey(), DelValue() to delete the old value(s) and key Note, this may lose any associated permissions. You might also like to look at SaveKey() and LoadKey() to shortcut some of the work.

Administrator Registered: 2000-01-24 Posts: 4946 Loc: Leatherhead, Surrey, UK	Most of your questions are answered in the manual, please try and read it from start to finish at least once. Your problem is that the characters "%", "@" and "$" have special meaning to KiXtart. To enter them in strings you need to double them up, so you need to write the following string: Code: "@@%%SystemRoot%%\system32\SHELL32.dll,-22921" This is explained towards the start of the manual. Also look at using the option SetOption("NoVarsInStrings","ON") as this may help you.
