I have a batch file that I want to use to call a login script for windows 95 clients.

The batch file resides in the netlogon share on the domain controller.
The netlogon is pointing to c:\winnt\sysvol\sysvol.
Within the netlogon I have placed the kix files that are required.
However, when I attempt to login to the client the batch file is unable to find and open the script.

Can someone please tell me what I should have for the line in the batch file?
The domain controller is named nw2ohs, the script is named livscript.kix?
At present I have %0\..\Kix32 %0\livscript.exe and the batch file is entitled livscript.bat and is called from the user profile within AD?
Thanks

If you have livscript.kix, then this will NEVER work as a KiXtart script is not an executable-
Code:

%0\..\Kix32 %0\livscript.exe

You should really have -
Code:

%0\..\Kix32 livscript.kix

If we read the Microsoft KB Article, we see how to do this correctly..

A Logon Script Does Not Work If %0 or %0\..\ Calls Multiple Commands

One common way to launch KiX on wintendos is through the Z: drive.

Z:\KiX32.EX Z:\Script.KiX

THere are lots of logon.bat examples already posted on the board.

Les, I appreciate your comments and please be assured I have reviewed these.
At present I am calling a batch file from the user profile, which appears to run but does not process the line in the script?

%0\..\kix32 livscript.kix

When I log on a message reads "Script error: failed to find/Open script!."????

Do I need to specify the full path? It is rather bizarre as if I bypass the error message, go to Network Neighbourhood, browse the Domain, Double click on the Domain controller, I can see the Netlogon share and I can see the scripts and the Kix files.

If I then double click on the batch file the drives map as they should?

the old fashioned way is...

%0\..\kix32 %0\..\livscript.kix

but XP has issues with that...

We ran into the same problem when we went to AD and resolved it by using Z:. I already gave an example, how hard can it be to try it.

as long as your script and kix are both in the logonscript dir, the %0 way and z-way are fine.

z:\kix32 z:\myscript.kix

if it has problems with either one, check the extension of the file again.
like, if you edited the file with notepad, it probably named it:
myscript.kix.txt

I agree with Les and others. We run AD 2000 (no longer Windows 9x), but when we did this worked just fine for our Windows 9x clients.

%0\..\kix32.exe %0\..\LOGON.KIX /F
