It'll cost several million dollars to replace the 9x machines, money I can't just say "spend now", especially because IT isnt' in charge of individual boxes, departments are.

We've given them their deadlines, hopefully they'll step up and do it, otherwise we will be unplugging them.

I love IT, and I totally agree with you guys, but some companies don't make these kinds of things simple. It's often easy to convince and get buyin here, it's something else to set a timeline.
