Great, glad to hear you were able to find a solution. That's always good.
I will have to agree with Lonkero though in that the longer you keep finding the magic to keep them Windows 9x boxes being supported, the longer they will remain there.
Management wanted a lot more things done in the logon script that were easy to do for NT and up, but a real pain for 9x. Finally I just told them that they had to make a decision... either really get rid of the Windows 9x or don't get the new functionality they wanted.
They chose to quit support for Windows 9x. Now I only have to maintain code for NT and above. Even that has now changed were down to about 20+ NT 4 boxes. Everything else is 2000/XP and coding is much easier to maintain now.
Best wishes on killing off your 9x systems as soon as possible, it will make your job a lot easier.
