I know this is weird but is there a way to capture the name of the login script into a variable. I actually run my kix script from a command in the login script...and I have a different script for different types of users. (not my idea <wink> )

Thanks for any help you guys can give. The people on this board are really great and I am very appreciative of all the help I've gotten!

You can try using the Windows SET command to set a Temp variable. Try in batch file that calls KiX script:

SET %LOGINFILE% = <ScriptName> ---> you put the name here
KIX32 %0\..\<ScriptName> ---> start Kix script
SET %LOGINFILE%= ---> clear variable after script completes
EXIT

With the Kix script you could then perform a substitution
%TmpVar = %LOGINFILE%

Untested, but let me know how it goes.

this should work, place this in your starting batfile.
code:

%0\..\KIX32 %0\..\logon.KIX $scriptname=logon.kix

and inside the kix script $scriptname will equal the name of the script "logon.kix"
