The following line fails with :
"Script error : invalid method/function call: Missing comma !" And I guess I'm too stupid to see the obvious

WRITEPROFILESTRING('\\susserver\WOL$\suswol.ini','SUSWOL',JOIN(SPLIT(@IPADDRESS0,' '),'')+','+@ADDRESS,'')

I'm trying to set up a fully automated Windowsupdate environment here at wrrk and the line is from Ed Van Balens "How to combine WOL and POL with SUS" page : http://www.xs4all.nl/~equator/suswol/

Thanks for listening...

That is not the line I find there...

WRITEPROFILESTRING('\\server-name\WOL$\suswol.ini','SUSWOL',JOIN(SPLIT(@IPADDRESS0,' '),'')+','+@ADDRESS, 'WOL')

Notice the 'WOL' at the end of the line.

Ups.. Sorry for the confusion..

The line I posted is from the sysnowol.kix script which is executed whenever a PC starts up. The line you posted is from the sustatus.kix script which is executed when a PC shuts down.

They both fail though (same "missing comma" error)...

Again - Thanks for listening

I would check the line before for wrong syntax.

A couple of other things to check.

Which version of KiXtart are you using? JOIN() is fairly recent.

Also, be careful when cutting and pasting code - the single speech marks (') have been known to change when copied from web pages.

The most likely culprit is as Lonkero says, an unmatched single quote earlier on in you script.
