Hi all,

I have a q, in our LAN with searching for "porn" in google the descriptions are shown however the actual links have been blocked by other upstream proxy server with our ISP.

There is an option in google to filter the descriptions, this can be turned on which saves a cookie to the pc. I want this to effect 100+ pc's on my LAN, whats the best way to do this instead of going to every pc? These are 98 clients and copying a cookie to each machine didnt work, same for setting a standard cookie foler on the server and redirecting reg entries on the 98 boxs. Any ideas if this is possible at all?

I think you would have to cross over to the dark side to forge cookies. If you can manipulate the google form through IE COM, you might be able to get a legitimate cookie dropped to the user. I stink at IE COM but there are a few on the board that may be up for the challenge.

Note: the double @..


C:\Documents and Settings\@userid\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files

and copy the cookie down to this location?

You can get the local settings location from - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders

and reading -
"Local Settings"

Are you referring to xp machines? I need to put this cookie onto 98 machines, will this still work? I assume the reg path will be diff on 98

I dont get it.
I tried saving the pref in google, copied cookies.. there was 2 of them like bblah@google etc..
So I deleted them and reloaded IE, they came back?? There was also an index.dat in the c:\windows\cookies folder.
This is very strange.
