Welcome to the board!!

shouldnt it be I:\kix32.exe I:\test.kix, also there is no need to use call. Just use
:
I:\kix32.exe I:\test.kix
and this should do the job

Regards

Aaron

That looks fine to me. I wouldnt use "goto" though as this can slow your script down. And also take out the pause.

What version of kix are you using?

Also what happens if you run the script locally from the machne? Map the drives manually and then execute the script, does it happen now?

it works on a local machine without map drive with kix 32 a a local repertory
It doesn't work when mannually mapping the i: drive and executing the file with a cmd window using "i:\Kix32.exe i:\test.kix"
Same message "this program cannot be run in dos mode"

I'm using the latest version (download on 2003-12-31)
Thanks

okay how about if you copy the kix32.exe and the script onto a test pc and then run it from there. First literelly drag your script file over the kix32.exe, what happend then?

Okay your script is fine. It seems to be only when executing your script over the network, which it might be an idea to check your GPO to see if there is anything that stops you executing anything in DOS. I take it your a domain administrator?

You shouldn't need to use "START". What does the W switch do?

To see what the flashing dos box is saying, actually call the batch file from a command prompt this way it will show you what the error is.

Does your %COMSPEC% variable resolve to (for more or less std. install XP I assume): c:\windows\system32\cmd.exe ?
