But when I compile and run the script I get a Kixtart ERROR ERROR: Error in Expression: this type of array not supported in expression ! -script name- Line 4 The line in question is the SELECT command which is confusing since if anything I would expect the error to be in the CASE stmt. And I've tried multiple variations of that line just in case it was that line, but no luck. I've put in code to check how the SPLIT Command is parsing the commandline and it's output is what I expect Command option1 option2 optionN Has anyone run into anything similar? BTW, there has already been a command-line parsing function/script been posted on this BBS. Jeff Habrych Jeff Habrych Fresh Scripter Registered: 2003-09-04 Posts: 5 Loc: Groton, CT	The EXECMDLINE comes from when you compile the kixscript it is the complete ARGV from the OS it includes the command name itself. The Command line parse GetOption(), it's basically the same solution as what I've shown. That function returns the value for the option, without any processing of the value. Which I'd still have to do anyway, with the value after it was returned. You would be the first who claims to successfully compile KiXtart Are you sure you're not talking about e.g. KiXcrypt or similar? Also, in your example $EXECmdLine must be defined as a global variable, otherwise it would be empty inside the function. What does $EXECmdLine and $CmdLine contain? And please post the complete code! Did you step through the code with DEBUG ON in the first line of the code? _________________________ There are two types of vessels, submarines and targets.
