Hello,

Has someone here ever used a TV-tunercard for watching television? If so what's the quality just like normal tv? Are there any problems with it?

I thinking of using one myself to replace my tv. For something like this.

that is funny.. I was looking at the exact same thing.

They can be found on line for about $270.00 US (see pricewatch.com)

I watch movies and such so the quality is probably based more on the card itself. and TV is relatively low bandwidth when compared to DVD

I don't use this, but I do have the ATI All-In-Wonder 8500DV (now a discontinued product)

TV works well, but quality is a little grainy compared to real broadcast TV quality. Not too bad though. I watch it some times in a window on my 21" monitor.

Not serious. Just like the abilities it has. I play my Xbox from my PC with it as well.

I personally don't think any PC solution can replace a real Television for quality.

Talking with my boss about this.. He went and got the Nvidia version and wound up returning it as it did not work properly.. He wound up going with Replay TV from http://www.buy.com as it was pretty cheap ($150 USD) and they still have the version with commercial skip. The new version(s) do not have commercial skip.

the main question in card might not be is it the best.
sure, made my big pro buy ati's 9800...
the thing is to get the components that work together.
if you buy dvb-t card, does it have tv-out.
if not, with which adapter it's been tested.

afaik, ATI is famous about having compability problems with other manufacturer's cards.
