[Moderator (Sealeopard): Moved topic from 'Scripts' to 'General' forum due to lack of script in body]

Can someone assist me? I need to rollout all the security patches in the last several weeks i.e. MSO-026, MSO-030, etc.

I need to roll out to Windows XP, Windows NT and Windwos 2000 machines. I need to have the results output to a csv file on the network that shows results fail or pass based on computer name. Any advice, help is apprciated.

First, MS03-039 supercedes MS03-026. Try searching the board. There have been several threads recently on this topic.

I doubt you will find exactly what you are looking for, but I know that the FAQ & HowTo forum has plenty of pertinent information as well as

http://www.kixtart.org/board/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=2;t=004498#000000

which you will have to update for use with MS03-039.

You will most likely have to take these pieces and add code for your specific job.

Search for "remote execution manager" as it may help.

estradac, I don't have a solution yet but am close....will post when done.

1.check registry for kb824146 on xp and 2k PC's
2.if exist do nothing
3.if does not exist use tcqrunas to install the patches using the Domain Admin account

hopefully this will allow me to leave the critical updates in place one after another with the checks being quick....until the next SP.

I have exactly 20mins experience with tcqruns, but i'll have a script to post in a day or so. If anyone has any ideas till then i'll keep my eyes open.

Maybe Bryce or someone else can help me out here... I've gotten the TCQRunAs to work installing the KB824146 Hot Fix as Admin on a users workstation. However I need to verify installation of the tcqrunas.dll.....if its not there then install. The code below works to check for the installation of the Hot Fix, I copied it and changed it to look for the CLSID of the .DLL......it can't find it ?? but its there.

code:

Case @PRODUCTTYPE = "Windows XP Professional"
$ReturnCode = ExistKey("HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{04F47D98-3495-4634-B195-AAEBB9DB5DD2}\InprocServer32 = C:\WINDOWS\system32\tqcrunas.dll")
If $ReturnCode = 0
? "Win XP Key exists...."
Else
? "Win XP Not Installed...."

EndIf

Mahjohn,
Please do not hijaak someone else's thread. Start your own!
As for your problem, I doubt the name of the key is "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{04F47D98-3495-4634-B195-AAEBB9DB5DD2}\InprocServer32 = C:\WINDOWS\system32\tqcrunas.dll"

wasn't trying to hijack his thread.....thought it was the same issue and would help. But I can start a new thread if needed.
