Hi

I am trying to uninstall games from user PC's by using
sysocmgrplease see my code.

sysocmgr /i:%windir%\inf\sysoc.inf /u:c:\ocm.txt /q

after running the command I can see the games icon under
accessoreis but when I check sysoc.inf i found nothing
changed, according MS it suppose to chsnge the
[components] section of sysoc.inf with the lines in ocm.txt

if it is not changing the INF file where else it could
be...??

OS=W2k
SP=SP4

Saleem,

Nothing is supposed to happen to the .INF file.

If the games were removed it did its job.

Ohhhhh

that means I cannot have a check before running
the script ? [Frown]

I was planning to add this in my login script.

I think I can create a text file or a reg key...some thing like that no ??

you could uninstall stuff the same way wintosh does.
read the uninstall-key from reg and use the proggies uninstaller to do the job.

to get it silent might be tricky...

Lonk... not for the games and accessory stuff. There is not a normal ADD/REMOVE section for them. You can elect not to install them during the installation of Windows if you want. Otherwise after the install in the ADD/REMOVE Windows Components you can select the games and remove them.

This method of remote/login removal should work fine, but also just deleting the exe of the game and the shortcut icon would suffice as well.

oh, you mean the apps foundable in:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\App Management\System Programs

and which have additional info in:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\App Paths

now, what is the problem of removing them?
as example, if you decide not to install calculator during setup, the exe mostlikely is still in your system folder.
setup just does not add the icons.
at least, that was the case before...

now, reading the info from here and removing the exe's should do, no?

I found a way to do this, After uninstalling the games using sysocmgr /i:%windir%\inf\sysoc.inf /u:c:\ocm.txt /q

it is totally removing all the games exe files so I can check for any games exe file like freecell.exe in system32 folder if it precent run the script else skip.

The question is whether your users have the necessary privileges to uninstall and remove the applications during the login.

No

I have done it using Admin script, (task scheduler)

I finished this task successfully.

For new PC's add to remove games in the PC install check list.
