Shawn Shawn Administrator Registered: 1999-08-13 Posts: 8611	lol, remember the other day when i said i was still at work - well i am still, still at work. me and the guys have been up working for over two days straight on our migration. having much fun playing around in AD. I like to call AD the Global Registry Its like HKEY_CURRENT_EVERYTHING ... By the way, got that script going to have NT4 workstns join themselves to the domain ... its that combo NETDOM 1.8 and ADSI bit we talked about a few days ago ... works pretty good. Doc, might try to push your kixforms domain-joiner script for use in our company.

According to my hosting provider, a drive in the RAID array of the server where KiXforms.org is hosted failed sometime yesterday. However, I fail to see why the situation hasn't been rectified yet. The server would still run on 1 less drive (that's the whole point of RAID) and would rebuild the array within a couple of hours of a replacement disk being inserted. Here is the latest news from my hosting provider: quote: I am sorry to inform you that the hard drive raid rebuild on the server just failed. The rebuild was 96% done when it failed. We will be forced to setup a new server for you, to replace the existing one. There is no cause for worry though, as we have a recent full backup of the server. All files will be reinstalled as they where before the failure. However, it will take some time to put the backed up data on the new server. We estimate it will take approximately 4 hours. I have just found out that the "recent full backup" that my hosting provider is referring to is dated ... [drum roll] ... the 23rd July!!! In other words it is inevitable that we have lost two weeks worth of posts from the KiXforms board. Let's just say that my anger with my provider can't be measured on the Richter scale right now. All I can do is apologise to the KiXforms regulars and hope that this doesn't inconvience anyone too much. Yours gutted and generally pissed off big time, Rod.
