You also get one (as an optional install - look at the cd and in the tools folder - IIRC) when you install AD too on your server. Either way, you get the ablity to "roll your own" MSI files and then deploy them.

That's somewhat debateable. It is definitely better than the previous version, but still has it's problems repackaging.

Either one that Rad and I point out have the ability to record the start/end state and list what files are placed on the sytem, registry changes, etc. Once this is done, it will show you what it found then generate the MSI file.

InstallShield AdminStudio is a better MSI packager than Wise. Here are some highlights from the box...
- Repackage using InstallShield expertise (InstallShield holds about an 80% market share)
- Customize applications using Transforms
There are many more features. Visit http://www.installshield.com/ for more info. Pricing AdminStudio and comparing features to Wise, its no contest. Anyway, do your homework before you buy.

As we are on the subject of remote installs or update installs, I would like to ask a question.
I have looked at both Wise and InstallSheild, bith suite my needs, but how do people roll out these installs.
Do you do them via the login script, or schedule the remote PC to look at the server for new updates every day say at midnight ???.
No problems about installing with admin rights, i have that part sorted .
For anti virus updates i do it at the login script, but just wanted some other users views.
