What about LN?

Ok.. Doing some Googling here..

We find some more ideas and thoughts -

Mathematics- <math.h>

4GuysFromRolla.com - ASPFAQS.com - Math Functions

efg's Reference Library- Delphi Math Functions

Math functions in JavaScript

Back in engineering school, we used to use a Maple product for graphing, plotting, etc. Probably beyond the scope of this. [Big Grin]

Have fun!

Here you go Kent. This is a very good CONVERTER if you want.

http://www.smisoftware.com/Html/ConvertIt/index.htm

I just don't see using THAT much math with KiXtart. I'd rather see other Networking features that some of our UDFs do or other functions then Math. Don't want a 5MB file size for a feature you may want or run into once in a year or more. (IMHO) [Smile]

Not true Ron ...

I'd also have no use for it within pure KiX scripting, but when it comes to the GUI side of being it is always worth to have.

*sigh ... Shawn, remember the Fern and all others by cj ? [Smile]

Doc,

I think you have a point.. For example, circle formulae or say the volume maybe handy for KiXForms, but not really necessary for KiX itself.

Yes, but is all that eye candy really worth ANOTHER bloated piece of software? [Frown]

Then why not create a KiXmath DLL?
code:
$kixmath=creatobject('KiXtart.Math')
$pi=kixmath.PI
$point=kixmath.sin(2*$pi)

I converted a LN function from another source here:
SQRT() a Square root function (reply # 7) but its precision is only 5 bytes.
Just dont ask how it works because I have no idea!
(I had to lie down for a week after giving up on it)

I think one of the most important math additions to KiXtart would be Power or say x^y. I know that Bryce has built the SQRT Function too.

Yeah !

but as stated somewhere above only integer values are possible by udf, or kludgy 'for' constructs where one has to raise the base to reach quasi precision [Wink]

Already added at top of topic anyway [Razz]

It was just underscored yesterday when I was playing around with a conversion from VBS to KiX.

No.. I went to http://cwashington.netreach.net where I found a Foldersize VBS..

Enumerate All Directories With At Least Xmb Of Data

VBScript..
code:
Total Size: " & FormatNumber(drv.TotalSize/2^30, 3,0,0,-1) & " GBytes (Microsoft Calulated Value)"

We should be able to conver to KiXtart..
code:
Total Size: " + FormatNumber($drv.TotalSize/2^30, 3,0,0,-1) + " GBytes (Microsoft Calulated Value)"

I believe that FormatNumber is "built-in" to VBS.

Thanks,

Kent

This thread is getting too chatty for the Suggestions forum. I am therefore moving it to General.

If any of you want to resubmit individual suggestions you may do so.

Feel free to link to this for discussions.

So... Are we ready to re-submit back in the Suggestions Forum??
  • sin()
  • cos()
  • tan()as well as their corresponding functions (asin() acos() atan() )
  • p (Pi as ummm ... a constant ?)
  • e (as well)
  • pwr() (supporting floating point operations of course)
  • sqrt() (cdbl-enabled as well)
  • abs()

One Question though if you don't mind;
Are there any rules to be followed if posting in SUGGESTIONS forum or was this just an act of arbitrary Moderation ?
