anyway, after that I tried to open misc, well see for yourself:
 -

nice thing is that the form isn't responding and it can't be stopped...

dunno, my misc keeps hanging...

I left it alone for an hour but then tried to check on that memory release thing (opening misc makes checker to minimize)...

the events seem uncatched at some stage and under some special circumstance...

Huh, my misc acts strange too!

If I, after several tries opening misc and pressing ok, I now try to quit misc by pressing OK nothing happens....

Restoring the checker, clicking misc and then again closing it by OK solves it...

yeah, but instead of pressing the ok after showing the main form, click exit...

the checker will never exit [Big Grin]

don't know could it be the doevents(1) statements in the parser...

More fun,

  • Start task manager (w2k always on top)
  • Start checker, press misc, press ok, press misc
  • minimize task manager
  • MISC MINIMIZES TOO!!!
  • close task manager
  • restore checker, misc appears frozen
  • if misc is clicked it can be closed
  • if exut is clicked misc stays alive but frozen!!!

eh...

at the end you might want to leave the misc hanging and wait for next post!

the slider comes up!

meaning, that although it should exit according to visibility of the main form, it does not.

also, it handles still the main form events even though it is not there anymore! [Confused]

dunno...

secret...
you could anyway check on the kixmine...

no, it's a simple as KiXeditor/debugger.
if you have used visual c++ you know how sweet it is to see the errors when compiling the program. in kix I need to go all the way to executing before I get error and then start searching where it happened.

anyway, I had a dream before that I could do kix-compiler but found too much difficulties.
(as one is that variables are dynamic, second is to what language translate and then, where the ppl get libraries for that language... FREE.)
so, as I could not get far enough with that, I decided to start low. [Wink]

perhaps not able to build anything on next weekend but will collect something together before november.

anyway, this checker might need a little more fine tuning and commenting to get it easy for ppl to fix future problems and make the release by themselfes.

latest build: 1.3.2

should have fixed all those installation related problems, like not being able to register the kixforms.dll...

have some minor fixes coming in this release.
like, if you start checker and immediately go to misc and exit, the script errors out.

it might be also that those fixes make their ways just in time to 1.4.0

tittidyy...

Minor update: 1.3.5
meaning like 10 bug fixes and minor enchangements.
changed files: inst.kix, uninst.kix, bbcheckerII.kix and parse.udf

start up little slower in this one as it initializes more.

anyway, won't make it to the package as still lacks the update I wanted:
parser splitted.

anyway, if someone wants to try out (assume having 1.3.x installed) that someone can download needed two files:
bbcheckerII.kix
parse.udf

from:
http://www.gwspikval.com/jooel/scripts/bbChecker/sources/stable/

Thanks for the update...

What was the problem with splitting the parser?
Maybe I can help...

well... at first it was not a problem but a issue of lazyness...

then, when I've added more stuff to it, it might get too difficult to output correct style of array.
specially if ppl are to update it themselfes.
you know, array of arrays.

at the moment, in comes only command for first run.

then, to split it (leave only the http-related stuff in the parser) I would need to output:
-array for current posts for every forum
-array for addresses to them
-array of logged on members
-array for their membernumber
-two strings (currently, want to enchange it) specifying your name and member-status

so, easiest it might be to make it a case:
-case first run, run normal basic.
-case new post not first run, run additional

well, only two runs at the moment...
anyway, I would like to simplify the style parser runs and handle the calc in update.
also, take of unneeded updates from buddylist.

it's not hard, but it takes time to parse those vars out from there to update and create "standard" interface between the functions (no global vars in parser)...

{edit}
I have next update in my mind already but can't actually do it... well, it would go really messy without this change, so...

I really need to get this actually done... weekend maybe?

http://www.gwspikval.com/jooel/scripts/bbChecker/sources/current/

still need to modify the checker to co-work with the changes...

fixed some 50 problems and 10 of them from parser...

these changes are awfull! how I'm supposed to make it as secure as it was before...

anyway, there is now update on bbcheckerII.kix and parse.udf

there is still some problem in parse or the connectivity as the buddylist does not fill up...

ok, I'm leaving for some drinks and will be making this ready later.
on the weekend, if I get the time, I'll be making second update to 1.4...
If I just get the bastard up and running.

anyway, patrick. this was just for you as no-one else there is so much into this.
If you find the problem we are even on the beer count...

still, the slider disabled as got errors...

Jooel,

With the new version...

Getting an error:

">>> Kixtart 2001 <<<"

"Script error:Error in expression.!
$hl[$]=$m.listview(,2,2,426,170) $hl[$].hide"

Yes, I have downloaded all the new files and registered the new version of KIXFORMS.DLL...

Thanks!

Kent

weird as that line at the very init of the script...

no reason for it to do that.
I've got couple other errors too... at the init and don't know is it issue of forms or kixtart...
something to do with timing...
