I have it... I don't use the rpc, so I can't comment on it, but other that that it runs every script I have written

It seems to be working on all my scripts as well. I'm probably going to put it into production today and see howw it goes.

I'll post an update later on.

Well, so far it does not seem to be a problem.

It is currently in production around the world. Nothing so far to indicate an issue with it.

I'm using it too and all "normal" scripts run just fine.
and on my endless looping scripts, no memory leak anymore!

there is not so many ppl who can test it.
as, who uses ras connections anymore (or win9x [Wink] )

I quess the fixes are working.
but, is there leftovers?

like, I have problem of stack overflow on 2 scripts.
they are more than extensive.

I quess we have at least one beta and 1-3 rc's coming before 4.12...
be patient is my suggestion.

On @RAS: feedback up until now indicates the fix works fine.

On the stack overflows: stack usage will be greatly improved in RC1 (should be enough to ensure KiXWeeper runs ok).

Ruud

I pushed out the KiXtart v4.12b2 into production and the only thing I've run accross is that the @CPU is not correct for some CPUs.

How does @CPU works internally? What/How does it query the information. We have some "semi" accurate information, but on the Compaq M700 laptop it mis-identified all of them as haing Celeron proccessors. We don't have any Celerons.

The speed of most processors was close enough for reports, but was way off target on the name/model for some of the systems.

Ruud, when do you anticipate RC1 will be available?

Hey NTDOC,
I also e-mailed Ruud today about the @CPU macro not properly reporting Mobile CPU types (not sure if it should).

On @CPU: getting the CPU brand and model correct is pretty much a mystic art (as a result of the very few rules, the large amount of exceptions and the impossibility to test), so any and all info is very useful.

Please send me the brand, family, model, stepping, etc of the system, as well as what @CPU reports and what Windows reports as the CPU name, and I'll see what I can do. (The best way to get detailed information on (Intel) CPU's is to use the CPUID utility available on the Intel web.)

Regards,

Ruud

This program does not run by command line, but it
does seem to be the most accurate one I've ever tested.

doc, I've understood that the Intel's own program is not working.
it returns values like "celeron or pentium" and isn't that just the problem in here?

I'm not sure Lonkero... I'll have to get out to one of those systems next week and run both these utilities on them and report back what I find.

Have not tried it for a while, as it gave invalid results on too many systems as well. They were supposed to look at fixing it, but the issue as Ruud says, is much more complex then that.

Intel's processor identification guide is here

The last revision is dated May 2002, and should tell you all you need to know for identifying Intel processors. AMD has a similar doc for tyhere processoerd.
