Doing a websearch on c0000142 finds many articles regarding this issue, but I didn't see any fix. I don't think this has anything to do with kix though.

Is this happening on all your computers or just one?
Have you tried using the newest version of kixtart to see if the problem goes away?
Have you disabled your antivirus to see if it causing issues?

You can right click on the kix32.exe to get the version or run a script with @kix to output the version.

I really don't believe this is a kix specific error. If you google c0000142 you will see this error popping up in many places. It appears it COULD BE a desktop heap problem or possibly a permissions problem. I'm not linking to any of those sites as I have no experience with that, nor has this issue been referenced here on the forums, ever, until today.

My suggestions would be.
1. Re/Download Kix 4.67 http://www.kixtart.org/?p=downloads
2. Get a clean install of Windows with no other software installed.
3. Run your script

It would be interesting if the poster would update this post if they found a fix.

Found this following article that might also help.
From: https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/a...0xc0000142.html

With this suggestion of the bunch seeming like the most likely culpret.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows\LoadAppInit_DLLs
should be set to 0

We are running the logon script in our environment and identified that this logon script creating the mentioned application pop up, but all users are not facing the issue.

Could you please suggest what needs to be carried out and where we need to install Kix 4.67 version ?

If you are running a logon script I assume you have Kix in the netlogon directory on the domain controllers. There's really no installing it. Just copy the kix32.exe file there.

My suggestion would be to get back to basics. Create a new installation of windows, join the domain, and then run a very simple test script, not the logon script. If that passes, run the logon script. If that passes, install one program at a time, and re-run logon script.

You should also consider posting your logon script here too.
