Sorry Glenn, as (very) good your UDF's are, I'm not much of a fan of the U in UDF's  They are very handy when you need a quick solution, but I personally prefer finding out stuff myself (reinventing the wheel, helps me learn better then using other ppl's code) This is why I mostly suggest the means to find out instead of pointing towards the UDF.

I'm a big fan of teaching people to fish, rather than feeding them.. I just knew that Allen had the capacity to take the fish, fillet it, and turn it into a meal to suit his tastes. 
While the WUSlib is available in my Kix resources page, a rather complete package, with the UDF library, sample code, and documentation is available as well as a package. That has lots of good info and examples related to WSUS, not just the UDFs. The library exposes the entire WU API, which many people aren't aware of.
That isn't to say that I didn't get some (more) ideas from the article you referenced.

As a side note: you guys prolly already know this but i discovered this week that with XP SP3, XP RDP /console changed to match Vista RDP /admin
